Since November 2020, the price of raw materials has soared, and the price of seamless steel pipe market has been rising. Until April 2021, the price of seamless steel pipe market can be said to be driven by raw materials.
With the requirement of “carbon reaching peak and carbon neutralization”, the output of crude steel will decrease, and with the start of infrastructure projects and the popularity of machining industry, the hot metal will flow to plate, bar, rebar and wire rod, and the flow to tube blank will decrease, so the supply of billet and tube blank in the market will decrease, and the market price of seamless steel pipe in China will continue to remain firm in the second quarter. With the slowing down of the demand for plate, bar, rebar and wire rod, the supply of tube blank will ease in the third quarter, and the market price of seamless steel pipe will fall. In the fourth quarter, due to the rush period at the end of the year, the demand for plate, rebar and wire rod will be hot again, the supply of tube blank will be tight, and the market price of seamless steel pipe will rise again.
